Karr Tuttle Campbell Honored with Community Service Award

SEATTLE, September, 2011– History repeats itself.  And that’s a good thing when it comes to community service. Karr Tuttle Campbell was honored this fall, for the second time in less than ten years, by the Puget Sound Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators with the 2011 Community Service Achievement Award.

This may look familiar to some of you, as the trophy bears a striking resemblance to the trophy we received for the same award given to us in 2002,” announced Bruce Larson, the firm’s managing partner.  “We are very privileged to have received this award twice in such a short time span when we are being compared to all the other fine firms in the Puget Sound region,” he said.

Larson, accompanied by ALA members Carol Anne Nitsche, Marguerite Sandico and Terri Lien, accepted the award at the September 15 Annual Managing Partner’s dinner. News of the honor came as staff and attorneys began to gear up for the firm-sponsored Urban Soup luncheon, an annual event which raises operating funds for the Sacred Heart Shelter, providing services for homeless women and families.  The benefit, featuring an all-you-can-eat luncheon of soups prepared by local restaurants, is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, October 14 at Plymouth Congregational Church at Sixth and University.

Additional community service programs in which Karr Tuttle Campbell attorneys and staff participate, which were also cited in the award, include Childhaven, Seattle Emergency Housing Services, the Downtown Bankruptcy Clinic, and several projects at Seattle Children’s Hospital including the Autism Center, Washington Medical-Legal Partnership for Children and the Butterfly Guild.  The firm has a consistent record of 90% participation in its United Way Campaign and provides billable hour equivalents and other incentives to employees who volunteer for community programs.
