H-1B Lottery Registration Date to Hire Foreign Nationals on Temp Work Visas

Getting Ready for H-1B registration for FY 2024
If you need to or plan to hire foreign national employees to work for you under H-1B visas, please be advised that United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) has announced that the window for employers to register prospective employees is March 01 – March 17, 2023. Registration will open and close at noon on both dates, EST.

Employers with active accounts: ALL employees you wish to register in the lottery MUST be entered before Noon (EST) on March 17, 2024. There is no need to create a new account. If you have one that you used last year, you can register employees using the same login and password as last year. The price of registration remains the same as last year; you will need to pay $10.00 per individual registered.

Please be advised that the KTC immigration attorneys will not be accepting any employees for registration after March 10, 2023; therefore, please prepare and provide your list of candidates as soon as possible.

Employers who need to register new accounts: If you are new to the H-1B registration system, and need help with registering an account, please contact your KTC attorney or me directly at kripa@karrtuttle.com or 206.224.8092. We would be happy to help set this up for you. Please note that you cannot register employees unless and until you have first registered as an employer entity. New accounts can be established online at the USCIS portal after noon (EST) February 21, 2023.

REGISTER APPLICANTS EARLY: We expect an absolute run on visas this year! Last year, USCIS received 483,927 applications for 85,000 available visas. We expect similar numbers this year. We highly recommend you do not wait until the last week of registration to enter or add prospective employees.

Lottery results: USCIS intends to inform employers of selected applications starting March 31, 2024.
