Employment Department to Host Tacoma Seminar on “Significant Employment Issues Facing Small Businesses”

Small business, though subject to most of the same laws and regulations that apply to large corporations, often do not have dedicated human resource departments or legal staff to ensure compliance with them. Yet compliance is crucial to avoid lawsuits and audits. On February 25, the attorneys of Karr Tuttle Campbell’s Labor & Employment Relations department will host a seminar addressing many of these issues. This seminar will provide an overview of some of the most significant employment law issues facing small businesses. Topics will include:

  • Recent Developments in Employment Law that could Affect Your Business
  • Best Practices for Hiring, Disciplining and Terminating Employees
  • Leave and Disability Accommodation
  • Compliance with Wage and Hour Law
  • Investigating and Defending Claims of Discrimination and Retaliation
