Overview
John Randall Miller’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate, taxation and finance issues. John’s practice is not limited to a specific industry, but covers transactions of varying shapes and sizes.
His work involves drafting and negotiating agreements, providing tax and compliance advice, conducting due diligence, and advising clients on all other aspects of the transaction process including related tax matters. John also maintains a close eye on risk-management issues to ensure assets are protected and opportunities for smart business growth prevail.
Outside of the context of mergers and acquisitions, John works with companies at every stage of the business life cycle. He works closely with his clients to manage issues around corporate governance, tax law compliance, and general employment matters.
Prior to law school, John worked as an advisory associate for Grant Thornton, focusing on risk, compliance, and controls. John has served on several boards including the Montana 4-H Foundation, the Gallatin Valley Land Trust (Next-Gen), and the Montana Board of Regents. While not an integral part of his practice, John remains passionate about higher education, local politics, and land conservancy.

Outside of his legal career, John is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys backpacking with his Goldendoodle, Bjorn.
