Luke Sturgeon focuses his practice primarily on business transactions, intellectual property, corporate finance and governance, and the diverse needs of early-stage companies. He always strives to deliver win-win solutions for makers and creators of all types, regardless of their industry. Routinely, Luke’s work involves drafting and negotiating agreements, performing due diligence, protecting and monetizing intellectual property, advising clients on corporate governance issues, and assisting them with other needs that his legal advisory role might serve.

During law school, Luke counseled startups and small businesses through the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic, helping his clients with entity formation and structure, strategic handling of intellectual property, and early rounds of fundraising. He also externed in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Washington, worked on Washington Law Review, and led the Military Law Association student organization.

Luke was an active-duty officer in the U.S. Air Force before he became a lawyer. As a pilot, his service took him all over the world and included several deployments to Afghanistan and the Middle East. His passion for flying airplanes is very similar to what attracted him to the practice of law: managing risk in dynamic, high-stakes environments.
