Adam D. Matherly is an attorney in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Emerging Company & Venture Capital practice groups. He provides counsel to emerging and established companies on issues of intellectual property protection, business formations and restructurings, corporate governance, private securities, and technology transactions.
Adam D. Matherly is an attorney in the firm’s Business & Finance practice group. He provides counsel to emerging and established companies in connection with business structuring and reorganizations; mergers and acquisitions; trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property protection; and licensing and other commercial transactions. Adam’s practice includes the representation of buyers and sellers in connection with private security offerings. He is also a member of the firm’s Cannabis practice group, representing Washington-licensed producers and processors, as well as non-licensed businesses which service the legal cannabis industry.
Prior to joining Karr Tuttle Campbell, Adam managed his own law firm where he served as outside corporate counsel for a number of biotech, e-commerce, manufacturing, and distribution companies. Concurrently, he managed the daily operations of a client aerospace tooling company as its Vice-President and COO.
Adam received his J.D. from Santa Clara University where he was an Associate of the Computer & High Tech Law Journal and Vice-President of the Biotech Law Group. He received a B.S. in Bioengineering from the University of Washington, completing his capstone project on the modeling of drug-drug interactions under Dr. Paolo Vicini and Dr. Wendy Thomas. Before receiving his law degree, Adam worked as a legal intern and research scientist at several biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
Outside of his work as an attorney, Adam works as a consultant for several nonprofit organizations. He also serves as an officer and business manager for a variety of outside entrepreneurial ventures.
