Special Counsel to the Firm

Priya Sinha Cloutier joined Karr Tuttle Campbell as special counsel to the firm in 2009. As a patent attorney and experienced litigator, she works with inventors, artists, and businesses to help create and protect intellectual property. Ms. Cloutier is Certified by the National Association of Patent Practitioners.

Ms. Cloutier received her B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of New Mexico.  She also did graduate work in Nuclear Engineering at Idaho State University and graduate work in Mathematics at the University of Connecticut.  She has worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, and the Hanford Nuclear Reservation.

Ms. Cloutier received her law degree from Seattle University School of Law.  Before coming to Karr Tuttle Campbell, Ms. Cloutier helped found and was the managing partner for the law firm Cloutier & Engle, in Edmonds, Washington.  While there, she focused on representing start-ups, entrepreneurs, and small businesses in intellectual property matters.  She has extensive experience in both state and federal courts, litigating matters involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property disputes.

Ms. Cloutier began her legal career at Connecticut Legal Services.  There she had experience in litigating class action suits and in advocating for policy changes in rulemaking proceedings in the Connecticut Legislature. Ms. Cloutier drafted proposals and reviewed proposed legislation and regulations, and also testified before legislative committees and agency policy- decision makers.
