J. Scott Gary is a shareholder of the firm who leads Karr Tuttle Campbell’s intellectual property practice and practices transactional and general business law as a part of the firm’s business and finance group. Mr. Gary’s diverse business-related practice involves a variety of matters that combine business, corporate and intellectual property law including trademarks, licensing and intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, nondisclosure agreements, distribution and franchising, business formation and governance, franchising, corporations, limited liability companies (LLC’s), partnerships, joint venture transactions and general contractual issues.

Mr. Gary also regularly assists clients with antitrust and competitive issues, tax planning, regulatory compliance, and other business needs.  He represents high-growth and emerging businesses, including high technology companies in the Internet, software, and service industries, as well as distribution and manufacturing companies, from start-ups to established companies.  He has represented many clients before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

Mr. Gary is active in many community and charitable activities.  Prior to practice at Karr Tuttle, Mr. Gary was law clerk to The Honorable Walter T. McGovern, Chief Judge for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
