James K. Treadwell

James K. Treadwell, a 1969 graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law, focuses his practice on wealth transfer strategies in the estate planning and probate field.

Mr. Treadwell has substantial experience in the structuring and implementation of estate tax value freeze techniques, including multitiered and discount partnerships and corporations, split interest trusts — both charitable and non-charitable — private foundations and the integrated use of life insurance and investment products in estate planning.

In recognition of his experience in the field of estate planning, his involvement in state and local professional organizations and his contributions to the scholarship in his area of practice, Mr. Treadwell in 1989 was accorded  fellowship in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and was selected as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” by Woodward/White.
