Jacquelyn A. Beatty, CPCU and ARM, is a graduate of Brown University (A.B. & Sc.B 1977), Columbia University (School of Nursing B.S.N. 1981), and University of Washington School of Law (J.D. 1987 With Honors; Order of the Coif; Order of the Barristers; Executive Editor, Articles, Washington Law Review 1986-87; and Winner of Carkeek Prize in Writing). Ms. Beatty's practice focuses almost exclusively on commercial civil litigation and state tax matters, including excise and property taxes, construction, commercial contracts, insurance coverage and bad faith. She also handles complex personal injury and professional malpractice matters. She joined Karr Tuttle Campbell's Litigation Department in 1988 and is a shareholder of the firm.
Ms. Beatty represents businesses, insurers, individuals, and municipalities at administrative hearings, and in state and federal courts, including courts of appeal.
Her insurance coverage practice involves both insurers and policyholders in a variety of coverage disputes arising out of environmental damage, toxic exposure, construction defects, professional services, employment practices, commercial property, and marine cargo losses.
Ms. Beatty has authored several publications and is a frequent speaker at the national, state and local bar levels. She is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell and has been designated by her peers as a “Superlawyer” since 2002. Ms. Beatty has been recognized in Seattle Magazine as one of Seattle's "Top 155 Lawyers" and by Seattle Business Monthly as one of Seattle's " Top Business Lawyers". Ms. Beatty has earned the insurance professional designations of Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter and Associate in Risk Management. She is active in the community, currently serving as President-Elect of the Evergreen Chapter of National Charity League. |
